Virgen de las Angustias, patron saint of Granada
The Virgen de las Angustias is located in the heart of Granada (Carrera de la Virgen), in the Royal Basilica of Our Lady of Granada , located on what was a hermitage of Saints Úrsula and Susana . Surrounded by historical buildings such as the Hospital de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias.
The image of the Virgen de las Angustias is inspired by a primitive tablet that Queen Elizabeth the Catholic had left in the old hermitage. An image that is a very unique representation of Piety.

CHORUS
O Virgin of Sorrows,
Queen and Mother of Granada,
who is, to your prostrate plants, a
bonfire of faith and love;
In life and in death,
protect us with your cloak,
and may your tears bring us
the protection of the Lord.
CHORUS
There is a Mother of loves
who adores entire Granada;
The Virgin of Sorrows;
The one who lives in the Carrera.
FIRST STANZA
From the coasts that blue bathes,
To the mountains, the summit of Spain,
where the snow is white glare;
From the Alpujarra cliffs,
To the happy fields of La Loja,
Mother of the soul, You are the sun.
(CHORUS)
SECOND STROPH
From our Alhambra the nightingales,
from our fountains the jets
under the blessed Andalusian sky,
sing the hymn of hope
and favors that
all of Granada achieves from You next to the Cross.
