The Great Power Basilica reopens on Monday but with the visit to the Lord's dressing room closed

The Sevillian churches are preparing to reopen their doors, after almost two months, on Monday the 11th. On this day, in which Seville will enter phase 1 of the de-escalation if the Government so decides, the Sevillians will return to rediscover their devotions, after the frustrated Easter processions. This will be the case of the Basilica del Gran Poder, one of the temples that stays open the longest and receives the most visits from the city. The brotherhood has announced what this expected reopening will be like, in which the capacity will be limited to one third and with access to the Lord's dressing room still closed.

The Brotherhood of Great Power was one of the first to take action against the coronavirus in early March. Then the kiss was suspended on the heel of the Lord. Now, the basilica reopens its doors but keeping access to the closed dressing room. Yes, the Chapel of the Tabernacle will remain open, with its corresponding capacity.

The Basilica of the Plaza de San Lorenzo remains open during its summer hours: Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 13:00 and 18:00 to 21:00. On Fridays, from 07:30 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 22:00. And on Saturdays and Sundays, from 08:00 to 13:30 and from 18:00 to 21:00.

Masses will be from Monday to Saturday, at 9:30 –10: 30 (will be broadcast in streaming on the Brotherhood's YouTube channel) -19: 30 - 20:30. And on Sundays and holidays of obligation, at 9: 30–11: 00-12: 30 (will be broadcast in streaming on the Brotherhood's YouTube channel) -19: 30–20: 30 (will be broadcast in streaming on the channel Brotherhood YouTube).

The brotherhood has adopted the following rules for access to the basilica:

The Basilica has been reduced to 1/3 of its capacity. Both for personal prayer and for the celebration of mass, the faithful will have to remain seated in the chairs and in the places specifically designated on the benches. If these are fully occupied, access to the interior of the Basilica will not be allowed until they become vacant, which will be communicated by the service staff. The wait, where appropriate, will take place outside the basilica, keeping the safety distances established by the regulations.

The faithful who come to the basilica should do so with their corresponding mask and hydroalcoholic gel. However, there will be gel dispensers next to the front door.

For circulation through the basilica, the recommended distances must be kept. For communion they will be marked in the access corridors.

In this first phase the Lord's dressing room will remain closed. The Chapel of the Tabernacle will remain open, with its corresponding capacity.

The faithful are urged to follow the directions of the Basilica's service personnel at all times.
