The Bishop of Huelva speaks of hope and awaits the end of the pandemic

The triduum of prayers to the Virgen de la Cinta in the face of the coronavirus pandemic has ended in the Sanctuary of la Cinta, invoking it as "Health of the sick."

The Brotherhood of the Ribbon wanted the May triduum to the Patron Saint to have this special meaning, presided over by the Bishop of Huelva, José Vilaplana Blasco, who concelebrated with the vicar for the Celebration of the Faith, Emilio Rodríguez Claudio, and the rector of the sanctuary, Andrés Vázquez.

José Vilaplana spoke of "the way of hope" before the words of the Gospel of the day in which Jesus says "do not let your hearts be troubled, believe in God and also believe in me". In these moments of pandemic "we stand by him and his company comforts us."

He referred to the surveys on the Christian faith and invited not to have a selective faith, but rather welcoming the dead and risen Christ, who "allows us to share his victory", "always looking at Mary".

In this mass the previous bishops of Huelva were remembered and José Vilaplana joined the recognition of Pope Francis who on the International Day of the Red Cross has asked "for all the volunteers who work in NGOs at the service of our brothers".

Juan Manuel Caballero, head of Cults of the Brotherhood of the Ribbon, presented the requests. This was done by all the religious associations, brotherhoods and NGOs, "so that through the close presence of the Virgin Mary they continue to be animators of charity in the church, hope for those in need and a sign of liberation in the world."

The sanitarians, the state security forces, and those who work in the supply of groceries and necessary materials for the homes were kept in mind, “that the insistent and determined prayers to our Mother, the Virgin of the Ribbon, are the guarantee and the confidence necessary to be able to control this difficult situation. ”

Like the prayers, requests were made for the recovery of those affected, and the deceased were remembered.

Wishing that "in view of so many cases of recovery, hope will return as in Cana of Galilee and soon joy and celebration can return after this moment of trial."

A prayer before the Virgen de la Cinta, Saint Manuel González and all the saints and blessed of the diocese, "so that this pandemic may intercede and end."

José Vilaplana, who during the confinement has had Mass from Monday to Friday in the Bishop's chapel and who has only left to go to the Virgen de la Cinta shrine for this triduum of prayers, announced that they will resume the same from Monday in the temples, within the norms established by the Government and he expressed his desire to be present in some parishes.
