Rocío de Jerez 2020 poster presented

The well-known Jerez photographer and brother of the brotherhood of El Rocío de Jerez, Borja Luque Pardo, signs the poster for this year 2020 with a snapshot that bears the title “The gaze of a pilgrim”. This poster was presented on the day of last Saturday after the celebration of the main function of the institute of the Jerez brotherhood in the convent of Santo Domingo. The Board chaired by Joaquín Vallejo wants to "thank all the participants in the contest for their unconditional collaboration."

Given the special circumstances as a consequence of the coronavirus, in this year in which there will be Rocío, but not Romería, it has been impossible to organize the presentation of the brotherhood poster publicly.

The photography that makes up the poster, of unquestionable technique and quality, was taken after the first steps of the Jerez wagon at the entrance to the Coto on the Wednesday afternoon of pilgrimage. It invites us to follow the path behind the Simpecado, towards that Dew of Light and of Hope that the pilgrims from Jerez are going to experience in a very special way on the Pentecost festival this year.

The printed edition of the poster will be distributed to the brothers from Monday at the end of the weekly Eucharist of our Brotherhood.

Stays in Almonte
The Blessed Virgin of El Rocío will finally stay until next year in the parish of the Assumption of Almonte. This has been reported by the older brother of the parent brotherhood to the media. The decision has been agreed between the brotherhood and the Bishopric of Huelva as well as with the authorities of the Junta de Andalucía in order to avoid crowds in this time of de-escalation.

Thus, note that the parish of the Assumption will open next Wednesday, May 13. The hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. Between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., the temple will be completely cleaned and disinfected. On Saturdays and Sundays the parish will be closed. At least until the second weekend of June, reconsidering a change from this schedule established from this date. Cults will continue to be held behind closed doors,
